Still Life Photo Challenge

Life is whizzing by, and here it is photo challenge weekend already! I'm dipping into my archives again for some still life shots.

Last December, this lovely white pitcher distracted me from getting my holiday decorating done. The sun streaming in the window was creating some great shadows that I hoped to capture.

Blue Mason jars are among my favorite things.
I find them very photogenic.

Eggs are photogenic, too!

Thanks for taking a look at my foray into still life photography.
Check out the other other participants' photos at

Thanks, Donna, for hosting each month!

  1. Wow wow wow! Very we'll done. I worked for Ball Corp for 20 years so have a real soft spot for the jars. These are perfect still life photos.

  2. Good job.I love the pictures of the pitcher. I like the idea of taking multiple pictures of one subject. It looks so different from different angles. I also like how you went from the plain white eggs, to eggs of many colors. I have the same spoons too!

  3. These are all beautiful. Natural light creating works of art...then fun to see the bright one at the end! :)

No wonder you had to stop what you were doing and capture the sunshine and shadowplay on your pitcher...love it.

  5. Love Love these pics! I love ironstone anything and your little pitcher is sweet in black and white showing off it's smooth lines. The mason jars and the eggs in a bowl are wonderful and I love the coloured one of the eggs. Beautifully done!

  7. These are all so great. The black and white really give an artsy look to your photos. The eggs in a bowl are very sculptural. Wonderful!

  8. You clearly know how to excel with this assignment! I remember the light and shadow play photos of that beautiful pitcher. Be still me heart, I am in love with that fourth photo! It is worthy of an enlargement and frame. I can even see a hint of reflection in the surface - a window covered in lace. Simplicity at its best! The bowl of eggs follow along the same vein. The colorful photos are lovely too, but the black and white ones are just delightful.
